One thing I found interesting was that Sonny was fires and he was kinda mad, so he signed up with Adidas. So the second thing that was interesting to me was after all that, there was a war against Nike and Adidas.
Sonny and his best friend pretty much went head to head in the marketing business. Sonny was with Adidas and his best friend was with Nike in Sonny's old position.
He signed the greatest player of all time to a contract at Adidas: Tracy McGrady. That's all anyone needs to find interesting, and that he went to work for Adidas after Phil Knight fired him.
I have learned that sonny was a major Nike contract dealer with the NBA.Nike and Adidas were in a shoe war over getting players to wear there shoes.They both made shoes for personal players.
I found it interesting that Nike decided to fire Sonny after he raised there sales from 170 million to 1.33 billion (1800%). Sonny was signed with Adidas and took the same concept with some minor adjustments there. This caused the big rivalry between Nike and Adidas.
I thought it was interesting that Phil fired Sonny. Without Sonny, Nike wouldn't be anywhere close to what they are today. Sonny got them a new shoe business, got them star players, and got the public hooked on Nike. Sonny brought Nike tons of money and in turn got fired.
I learned that Sonny was fired from Nike without any real reason, even though he was the main reason why Nike was able to flourish. I also learned that Kobe Bryant was given a $1 million contract and a shoe deal with Adidas while he was still in high school, which was mainly because Sonny wanted him to be the spokesperson for Adidas.
I found it interesting that Sunny was fired from Nike because college basketball wasn't going well anymore, and I found it interesting that Adidas hired Sunny to go against Nike. Now because of Sunny Nike and Adidas is 2 of the top shoe companies in the U.S.
Sonny got fired from nike and adidas called him soon after and wanted his ideas. Adidas guaranteed Kobe a shoe after him and a definite spot in the NBA if he signed a contract. When nike fired Sonny, nike was worth billions. Nike hired Sonnys friend George to compete against him. And kids became unpaid marketing. Adidas wanted to start sponsoring high school kids and thats how kobe came into the picture.
Sonny isnt a quitter and even after he got fired he still kept working and became a salesmen for addidas and signed Kobe and Tracy McGrady to addidas. He took it to a personal level.

sonny was about to get fired from Nike but before he could get fired he quit. and he felt down on that but then Adidas got a hold of sonny and Nike was at war with Adidas for sneakers getting worn by basketball players
Sonny switched to ADIDAS when he was fired, Used highschool kids not collage as much.
